Dawn Kelley's Class
Mrs. Kelley and Mrs. Ray: 7th and 8th All Subjects
Welcome to our class! We are so happy to have you joining us this year. My name is Dawn Kelley and along with my paraprofessional, Randi Ray, we teach all subjects in both 7th and 8th grade. Here is a little about me...
I was born in Pennsylvania, grew up in Missouri, lived in Vicenza, Italy for three years, lived in Florida for twenty-four years, and moved up here in 2012 with my horses, goats, cats, dogs, and husband in tow! I majored in psychology and equestrian science at William Woods College in Missouri. In Florida, we owned a small farm where I taught horseback riding lessons and led a 4-H club. My daughter, Samantha, grew up riding and showing horses and dogs and anything else she could talk me into. I started teaching in a special education classroom in 2003 and quickly fell in love with it! I went on to get my master's in special education from Grand Canyon University.
My husband, Jim, and I decided we wanted a change from Florida and made the move to Georgia. We just love it here! Jim is a former golf pro and owned several businesses in Florida. He is currently a manager at Lowe's. My daughter moved here shortly after us and is working at her dream job as a horseback trail guide up in Blue Ridge along with doing some child care. She spends all of her free time with her son (my adorable grandson, Shane), their dog and horse. Including her pets, we are down to just three horses, four dogs, and eight cats who have found us here!
I am so excited for my third year here at PJHS! I love my students and look forward to teaching them every day!
