Duane Cronic - Assistant Principal

Duane Cronic

Hello students, parents, and all stakeholders of Pickens Junior High School. It is my pleasure to serve as one of your Assistant Principals here at PJHS. My main responsibilities for the upcoming school year will focus on discipline and safety.

I have served as assistant principal at both Pickens High School last year and Jasper Middle School. Prior to that I spent 12 years at PHS as a math teacher, football coach, and golf coach. I am looking forward to my new adventure at this awesome school. I graduated from Shorter University with a B.S. in Mathematics Education in 1997, obtained my Master of Mathematics Education Degree from The University of Alabama in 2002, completed my Education Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Lincoln Memorial University in 2011, and finished up my educational experience in 2016 adding an Educational Leadership certification from Valdosta State University.

I have three wonderful sons, Seth, Daxton, and Blaine. My hobbies include fishing, golfing, gardening, and helping coach my boys’ sports teams. Again, I look forward to working with our students, parents, teachers, and all community members in building upon the great tradition of excellence that Pickens Junior High School has established.
