On March 14, PIckens Junior High will host a community health fair as well as conduct scoliosis screenings for all 7th and 8th grade students. Scoliosis screenings are mandated by Georgia law and must be carried in out in two grades yearly. Below we have included the official Pickens County Health Department Opt-Out form as well as a sheet of facts regarding scoliosis. Moreover, there is also a video about what happens during a scoliosis screening produced by Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. These forms will be sent home with students on Friday, March 1. Please feel free to contact us if you have more questions.

8th Grade Field Trip Info
Attention parents of eighth graders going on the Savannah Field Trip. Your child should have brought forms home to you on Friday. If not, they are attached. We have our final parent meeting before the field trip, this Monday, March 4, at 6:00 PM. If your student return their completed medical release form, along with a copy of their insurance card (front and back), on Monday, there is no need to attend the meeting unless you have questions.
Our School Mission
The mission of the Pickens Junior High School Community is to prepare our students for high school graduation and future success by inspiring them to become responsible learners and productive members of society.
Excellence in student learning is the chief priority for the school.
Teachers, administrators, parents, and the community share the responsibility
for advancing the school’s mission.
The commitment to continuous improvement is imperative if our school is going to enable students to become confident, self-directed, lifelong learners.
Students learn in different ways and should be provided with a variety of instructional approaches to support their learning.
We strive each day to reach our vision...
